Estimates are not quotes

This is the most important term on the page, so it comes first.

Any price, range, or estimate produced by this website, including by any automated estimating tool, is preliminary and informational only. It is not a quote, not an offer, not a contract, and not a commitment to perform work at that figure by us or by anyone else.

An estimate produced here is generated from aerial imagery and the information you provide. It cannot see how many layers of roofing are already in place, the condition of the sheathing beneath them, the state of the flashings, chimneys, skylights and ventilation, whether equipment and waste can physically reach the roof, or anything about the structure. Those are the variables that decide the real figure, and none of them is visible from above.

A price becomes fixed only after an on-site inspection and only when it is issued to you in writing as a quotation. The written quotation, together with any contract signed with it, is the agreement between us. Nothing on this website varies it, adds to it or overrides it, and where anything here conflicts with a signed written quotation, the quotation governs.

No warranty of accuracy

We take reasonable care with the content of this site, but it is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We give no warranty, express or implied, that the estimating tool, the measurements it produces, the prices it displays, or any other information on this site is accurate, complete, current or fit for any particular purpose.

Aerial and satellite imagery may be out of date. It may not reflect additions, conversions, alterations or damage. Automated measurement can misread roof planes, pitches and boundaries, particularly where tree cover, shadow or adjoining structures interfere. Material availability and pricing change. Regulatory requirements change.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising out of reliance on information published on this site, including any decision taken on the basis of an estimate produced by the estimating tool. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Use of this website

You may view, print and download material from this site for your own use in considering or arranging roofing work. You may not:

• copy, republish or redistribute substantial parts of this site for commercial purposes without our written permission;
• scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or data from the site, including by automated means, other than ordinary indexing by search engines;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system, or interfere with its normal operation;
• submit false, misleading or third-party information through the forms, or use them to send unsolicited commercial messages;
• use the estimating tool for any purpose other than obtaining preliminary information about a property you own, occupy or are genuinely considering.

The content, layout, text, graphics and code of this site are owned by us or licensed to us. Product names and manufacturer marks referred to on this site belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively to identify the materials we install.

Enquiries and information you submit

Submitting a form does not create a contract, a booking or an obligation on either side. It is a request that we contact you, and we may decline any enquiry, including work outside the areas we cover or work we consider unsuitable to take on.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit, including the property address. Our privacy policy explains what happens to that information and who processes it.

Third-party services and links

This site uses third-party services, including mapping and imagery services that support the estimating tool, form delivery and analytics. It also links to external websites such as government departments, standards bodies and manufacturers. Those services and sites are not under our control, we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

Warranties on work carried out

Nothing on this page affects the warranties that come with work we actually carry out. Those are set out in the written warranty documents issued at the completion of a job, and summarised on our warranty page. The workmanship warranty and the manufacturer's product warranty are separate documents with separate terms, and each governs its own subject matter.

Changes

We may change this site and these terms at any time. A revised version is posted here with a new date at the top, and applies to use of the site from that point. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of the use of this website, are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, subject to any right you have to bring a claim in another forum that cannot lawfully be excluded.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues in force.
